A Living History

Honoring the 17 individuals manumitted by Dr. Henry Schumann in 1836 who journeyed from Winston-Salem to Liberia aboard the Lafayette, forging an eternal link between our cities.

Student Housing

Proceeds fund the new Student Housing facility in the historic Happy Hill neighborhood ("Little Liberia") to support Liberian scholars.

Sister Cities

Strengthening the official Sister City relationship between Winston-Salem and Buchanan, Liberia.
